December snow

View from the window in my room :)

Hahaha poor car. I was wishing that it'll snow really heavily overnight because it'll be nice to build a snowman for once! I really want to build oneeeeeee. (This was taken from the kitchen window)

It looked kind of similar to the previous photo but it's different. It's supposed to show the marginally thicker snow that has fallen on the ground.

As mentioned in the previous couple of posts, it has been snowing here! The main highlight for waking up today was to see how much of snow has accumulated on the ground. It was not as thick as a couple of years back when it snowed really heavily but it still looked wintery nonetheless! Plus it kept me indoors (UO sample sale is going on + FCUK Grazia deal- 20% off!! One day only) because the thought of balancing on the slippery ground puts me off. I managed to finish my Econs essay in the afternoon yey! I'm quite chirpy now because my tutor is nice enough to accept it even though I handed it in late :D Hehhehheh :D :D

Next up, Accounts essay. Ganbarou~

snood

It's freaking cold in here! The heaters in my room and the hallway, which is right in front of my door (which is open), are both switched on and I'm still freezing my brains out. Seriously. I can feel my skull contracting in this super cruel, bone-chilling coldness! Metoffice (weather forecast) has been putting up updates that snow has fallen on the other parts of the UK. Tomorrow is predicted to be London's turn. I'm definitely not walking out with tights and shorts. My dressing sounds crazy ("tights in Winter?!") but normally 2 layers (100+ denier) of them is sufficient to keep my legs warm... at this time of the year. I guess this year's different. It gets more worrying after I read this:
Some of the snow showers have been frequently heavy with hail and thunder mixed in.

...global warming at play? 2012? (2012 is a freaking scary yet entertaining movie!)

My head is kind of woozy right now. It might be because of the spontaneous coldness but I have a gut feeling that it's because of the weird smell coming from the (BLUE!!) snood I bought today. I made the purchase without realising that it's 100% acrylic. It would have been fine even if I do realise it (it's NAVY blue!), but the smell is really putting me off. Is it paranoia at play or am I really feeling restless? I'm really hesitating at the thought of returning it :(

It IS quite ordinary looking... and acrylic smelling. (I shall assume it's the smell of acrylic)

Let's hope it doesn't snow tomorrow! I'm planning to wedge 2 hours of rush-shopping (more of running errands than anything really) in between the 4 hours break I usually get on Tuesday~ :D

light

Second post of the day; I have nothing better to do. The weather is awesome beyond awesome outside but I'm inside. Aww, what a waste. Apart from experiencing the unfortunate Bank event, all I've been doing is chat and do little errands here and there. I will be baking my cookies in a moment (sister volunteered to buy my baking sheets for me yey!). My back is starting to ache from sitting all day. I'm glad I will be doing something more productive and yummy! :D

Sister's room, which is a current messy land (justified since she's preparing for exams). I love how the sunlight always pour into the room, making it all bright and cheerful.

The scene from the window of my room.

go far out

I'm always coming back here with the desire to post something but once I look at the white screen, I go, "hmm, what should I talk about?"

Does this ever happen to you? Maybe it's just this thing between me and seeing a sheet of white sprawled in front me. You know... that.

It's raining now. Oh, what a great weather to stay indoors and hide under the duvet. I love staying indoors, where it's dry and warm, when it's wet and cold outside. Play some Jazz or Classical in the background to keep me company (and classy) or even cook something up. I get this sense of tranquillity inside me whenever I bake while it is raining. Something like a silent joy? I just love how it feels. Calm & carefree. Something subtle. Like someone's hugging you from the back with a duvet. (??!!?)

This kind of weather makes me think of life. Yes, corny thought. Laugh, sneer, stare, glare at that, whatever, do what you like, I can't see you. For today, I thought about how people always say that getting a grip of yourself after having suffered a failure is the most important thing to get over it. Then I thought about how much effort is needed to pick up the pieces, mend it or even, just leave it there and move on. I thought about how the past is capable in catching up with the future, haunting the current and putting one into dismay once more. Then I thought about how another person can help to catalyse the process of getting over something; the strength that companionship gives to one. & then the corrosion and maybe extinction of long-term companionship in the modern world. Or is it just the same across generations? Has information actually allow people to be flexible in this sense too?

Anyway, I shouldn't be indulging in such thoughts (bad distractions). One thing that I would love to do now is... have a tv dinner with a nice company. :)

My beloved and lovelettes, you're all dearly missed.

The nerdy me has decided that blogging shall be my choice of break from looking at exam related materials. I am quite amazed at my inefficiency. Can you believe that I spent 7 hours doing a 10 page presentation for my French oral? Of course, having said that, I can say that I've finished one of them (both power point and script) which leaves me 3 more exciting presentations to prepare for. Note: it is only for French oral examination.

The way the French oral exam will go about is pretty interesting. We were given 4 topics to prepare beforehand. On the day of the oral exam, we'll present one of the four topics we had prepared. The thing is, we sort of get to pick which topic to present- out of the hat style i.e. pick a random piece of paper and present the one that is written on it. It sounds exciting issn't it! :)

It has been 3 days since I reached London. My flight back got delayed by 5 hours, which perhaps a blessing in disguise of some sort. It gave me around 3 more hours of my beloved without parents' presence! I ended up reaching London at midnight though. My poor sister had sacrifice her sleep which makes me feel bad as I think about it. She had to wake up early on the following day for work.

Anyway, both the underground and Heathrow Express had ended their service by the time I got out. My sister was not willing to pay a hefty sum (£75 to be exact) for the cab back home. She so reluctant that she suggested to actually sleepover at the airport before Heathrow Express operates in the morning. My jaw literally dropped when I heard that. But of course, she was joking. We managed to hitch a ride back home though. Naw, now I'm just kidding. SIA provided a complimentary cab ride due to the delay. How nice of them! :D

Truthfully speaking, and perhaps scarily, it doesn't feel like as if I spent 4-5 months here after summer. The 5 weeks in Singapore was so normal and pleasant that I forgot all about London. I'm not even joking. I presume it's the LSE effect. My dread of coming back to London because of the exams has temporarily altered my memory of this city. It's such a shame considering how pleasurable the weather here is like... among other things. One thing that I'm really glad about being back in London is the current season, my favourite one too, SPRING! Gentle Sun, nice and cool weather, greeeeeen grass, flowers blooming, people enjoying the warmer weather.. sigh I can just go on and on talking about it. I'm in such a dilemma about my feelings towards London! Never ask me whether I love/dislike this place. I will never be able to produce a definite answer unless... the picture is complete. ;)

Alrighty, time to get back to work. I shall not get to bed before I finish a chapter (or maybe 2) of statistics + French homework. I CAN DO THIS! :D

Eyjafjallajokull

An update! This probably won't be too long as I have decided that I shall finish French politics (literally in French fyi) by tonight. After which I'll have 6 more topics before I can announce that I am done with reading the society part of my French module. I'm never good at absorbing facts, sadly. It takes me ages before I actually register them. What's even more unfortunate is that this disability of mine has been getting worse as I age. Urgh, it sure suck to be old.

As you all (probably) know, the volcano in Iceland (with a really long and gibberish name) that recently erupted has given a lot of problems to air travel. Flights to and from Europe was cancelled for nearly a week. Today is the day when aeroplanes are given the green light to start carrying stranded passengers across international borders. A few days ago I was worrying that my flight which is due this Sunday will get cancelled. It will be a quite a grave matter to me as I have a listening exam to sit for on Friday and I wouldn't want to land myself in the situation of rescheduling my flight and waiting for airspace to resume. In fact, I am still pretty worried that there might be hiccups with airspace. Afterall the volcano is still spouting ashes into the atmosphere. Mother Nature... please let me get to London safely before anything goes wrong!! (Mother Nature reading blogs... hmm)

My previous week was occupied with my beloved. Spending time together with him easily reminded me of how CTC days used to be, minus all the college people and the awesome weather. Of course it felt different too. Actually, no, scrape that. It feels more like summer. Yes, summer. CTC days remains a part of the lovely memory of us that I'll never forget. :)

As I was saying... his company is priceless. Even though we just wasted our time away doing ordinary things that other couples do everyday, it's enough for me. Maybe it's because of the 4 month long deprivation that anything goes for me. For now. Come to think of it, I never really asked him whether he's fine with the way we were utilizing our time together- he did mention going to some local attractions. Ho hum.

Now that he's back in, I forgot how it was like to not have him around. I forgot how to handle some things and lost a bit of control. Egawd this is so hard to explain. It's just... weird! It's like something obvious is missing. Ok I shan't go on and on about this. (GROW UP!!)

I'm meeting up with lovelettes tomorrow and will be having Korean!! It's a serious meet-up that shall be filled with nothing except eating and studying. Oh yes, studying. I shall head back to LA VIE POLITIQUE before I waste even more time! :)

birthday week (real)

Mon anniversaire! :D

My first week being a 19 year-old was mellow and rather hectic. It started off calmly, gradually became unbearable and ended with a huge release of weight off my... well, mind. By now I'm done with French mock and Accounts first formative assignment of the term, both of which I did alright. I'll be relieved if I manage to scrape a pass. Haha, some aspects of me are just that stubborn! Overall, I had quite a pleasant week. I really enjoyed the shower of birthday wishes, care and love! & of course, being able to talk more to Shaun this week. I was all warm and fuzzy for 3 whole days. Thank you, all of you sweet people!! :) ♥♥♥
I made red eggs for myself on the night before my legal birthday. This year, apparently, my Chinese birthday was right before my English birthday. It could have been a really good reason for wild people to organise a 2 days long birtday bash, no? I think I would have done it if I were some spoilt, rich brat.

Le gâteau d'anniversaire! My sister decided to get me a cake, which was really really really nice of her! I picked the cake: Black Forest! :D

Posing with the cake! I'm cake-deprived T_T

Au Natural. (except the nails)

Cutting the cake!

Really cutting the cake.

The top bit made it quite difficult to cut.

Post-mortem. It consists of more cream than the forest. (hope you all get the joke)

Sis enjoying the cake she bought.

After the dinner (her treat) on the next day. As in on my legal birthday. This is confusing, huh?

A birthday present on the day after next!!! As in the day after my legal birthday. Hahaha, I did that on purpose to get you gears moving. Thanks Kodak and Karina! They wrote me a really sweet card too. It was really unexpected and made my day! Mila and Shaun made legal birthday via Mila's lj post (really touched!!!) and Shaun's call. Of course, my sister's dinner made my tummy very happy. :D

To tell you all the truth, I didn't expect much attention during my birthday. Well, namely because I've decided to celebrate when I'm in Singapore. The only activity I had in my agenda for my birthday was dinner with sister, which was a really filling and satisfying one! I'm glad to have done such a simple thing with my sister because I haven't been spending my birthday with any of my family members for the past few years. Distance is definitely the main culprit, with Time next in line. & next year, it'll be highly likely that I'm the only one in London. I know I've been having the mentality that it'll be totally cool and independent to be fully responsible of myself. Whether that's true or not, I still don't know. But one thing that I'm sure of is that I'll be craving for Singapore more often.

Like, I'm totally craving for satay, rojak, chicken rice, char kway teow, soya beancurd, wanton mee, fresh fish balls, my praaaaaawns, chilli, tako-pachi, popiah, bubble tea...... T_T Omg I'm like some hungry ghost roaming around in London! :(

Anyway, enough of home-sickness. Egawd, exams are cominggg!! I've got an ENORMOUS pile of readings to do (all thanks to self: PROCRASTINATION) and assignments due and blahblahblah.. those academics stuff. Same, old, same, old. Ho hum. The next 2 weeks will be pretty busy too due to assignments that have to be handed in on week 10. Le sigh.

Let's talk weather now. London's weather is currently undergoing some seriously erratic changes. This week I've experienced plenty of delightful Sun and it's predicted that next week will be quite miserably gloomy (and probably cold too) again. Last week was horrible because it rained for nearly everyday. It would have been bearable if not for the strong gusts! Of course I would have enjoyed the condition providing that I'm indoors, a cup of Earl Grey, some delicious tarts, a blanket and my dearest. The heater is obviously optional.

Oh yea, the dearest will be heading off to the jungle for training for 5 days and 4 nights. No communication is allowed. This is going to be quite an experience to remember.

I shall spice up my life with new dishes soon. As for now, BACK TO THE BOOKS!

il a attendu pour moi

I'm loving the sunshine oooh uhoh ohhh! (I loved the brightness of the day today! It would have been awesome if it was not as cold though)

Inspiration struck me last night but, unfortunately, it didn't leave a strong imprint. It got washed away just like how mild feelings always end up... it's not that I didn't want to immortalize the thought, fate gave me an unexpected headache which sent me right under my blanket. My health is under question now, along with 2 other important issues.

It's week 5: I'm halfway through the term. I dare not declare I'm glad that the past 5 weeks has gone by but I'll definitely admit that Easter break is now 5 weeks away! Oh yes baby!! :) :)

Shaun's been inside for exactly a week and we barely contacted one another due to his hectic schedule. It feels weird to be in this situation because I was so used to seeing and talking to him nearly everyday (via skype). In fact, we haven't spoken in the past 2 days and exchanged about 2 texts only. It feels like we've lost contact for a month.. he'll be coming out tomorrow for CNY which means a long weekend! My heart is growing waaaaaaaaay too fonder already.

I've been trying to fill the empty gaps with random things e.g. naps, MSN but just not Gymbox which I really want to but I just can't due to various reasons. Urgh, I'll really have to maximise the utilities there because I've paid for it! AND it's so pricey. 12 month membership omg my money outflow is too big already arghhhhhhhhh... *cries* I. Must. Go. Gymbox!

Alright back to paving my way through the pile of assignments... it's a common sign of mid-term. Not forgetting the much dreaded dark circles, being zombie-fied and insomnia (at least for me).

I'm finding the light in my room especially glaring today. Hmm.

who likes doing laundry

I can't believe how long my day gets whenever I don't skype (the boyfriend). For example, today I came home at ~2.30pm since he went to bed early. It's 6.15pm now and it feels like half a day! It does feel nice to have a whole lot of time in your hand sometimes... sadly the past 3+ hours weren't spent productively albeit the fact that I did laundry. I don't get why people don't like doing laundry. It's like the best housework: pop the clothes into the washing machine, wait for the rounds to end and just hang them up dry! Smelling the freshly washed clothes cheers me up... somehow. Yea yea, I'm a weird nut.

Anyway, the weather has been picking up lately! Today felt a bit like early spring with the Sun appearing at about 4pm and it wasn't as miserably cold as the past week. I love it when the weather gets slightly warmer since there's no need to pile up as many layers. Egawd I sound like those typical English who doesn't know what to talk about and hence decided to mention the weather. I've got to admit that UK's weather is really interesting to mention since it's incredibly erratic (think 10°C to 0°C to 10°C in a fortnight). It's not like in Singapore where you can't really talk about the weather. Imagine conversation that goes:

Me: It's hot and humid today issn't it?
Acquaintance: ...you mean everyday?
Me: oh yea. *damnit I just made myself sound like an idiot*

I did mention during French class recently that the UK weather is one of the reasons why I wouldn't leave the country for Singapore. A good half of the class gave me a look of disbelief. It followed on with a short debate regarding the weather here.

Oh yes, which reminds me. I shall get a move on my French homework now! :D

fate is up to us to create

It's raining snowflakes outside!!! Egawd, the clouds are shaking off their dandruff down to the surface of the Earth. No doubt that it's a beautiful sight, especially at night. It's especially, excruciatingly cold too. My fingers are so stiff because of the cold that I cSnt tupe prierjkly,,, Joke, that's just for illustration.

Tomorrow should be quite an interesting day trotting across the white streets. Grocery shopping is in my morning agenda... at least for now it is. If I were to embark on the journey (assuming that I'll ever get out of hiding under the pretty thick and dense duvet), I'll definitely slap on layers of clothing and my boots (with "hairy" lining). I really hope the layers will keep me from freezing my skull off. *fingers crossed*

"What's meant to be is meant to be" -this phrase will be the cause of my misery soon.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh I'm posting so much jargon. I shall apply some body butter and head off to bed. Like now.

my hands are freezing

It started snowing today! Can you see it here? It's quite a light snow, so it didn't pile up this time round.

Snow flakes.

I can't believe it's snowing already. It's so early! Plus, considering that London rarely snows due to the pollution level. It's scary to try and guess what's happening to the Earth. *touches wood* On the brighter note, white Christmas is a possibility this year! :)

Egawd, I hope the floor wouldn't be slippery on Boxing Day though. I don't really fancy the thought of walking on frosted ground while racing from shop to shop. (Darn should have learnt how to ice-skate)

Anyway, my Winter break is here!!! I have been catching up on my sleep and even went on a day trip with my parents and sister on Sunday. We weren't exactly looking forward to it because the weather has been cold and staying indoors seem really cosy and comfortable. But, it was a trip that was worth us giving up the luxury. Kent is a gorgeous place!! :D

Back to getting fat~

Sunday, 29 November 2009

so happy I could die

I like the sound of rain. How the raindrops fall onto surfaces be it leaves, railings, windows etc. It's really therapeutic listening to them. Pitter patter pitter patter pitter patter... it reminds me of the time when Shaun and I were baking chilli chicken legs with the skin on. How the air pressure actually builds up below the skin, causing the grotesque bulge (huge one at that) to form. I forgot to poke the skin before sending the tray into the oven. Silly me! Oh yea, and how the fats were oozing out of the chicken and sizzling on the tray, jumping about furiously. Sizzle sizzle... I know I am totally ruining the image of raindrops :P (how in the world did I get from pitter patter to sizzle sizzle??!)

Anyway, it's raining outside. At midnight too, so it's really great for me to stay up and get some work done! But as always, to no avail. I'm still halfway reading the Monopoly chapter of Microeconomics and Behaviour by Robert H Frank, since 9PM. The pace I'm going at is seriously a big joke. While I'm at that, my week has been a joke too. I shall spare the details. So here I am, munching on some kiwi my mom had prepared for me (was supposed to finish it right after dinner). Good alternative to midnight snack! My ferreroes have mysteriously disappeared from the fridge. They weren't that good anyway. I still prefer Royce (hint hint). Naye, I'm kidding. I prefer anything that keeps me awake while I'm reading. Seriously, I need to munch on something as I do my midnight reading or it'll just be moving my eyes along the lines and not decipher what the meaning of the words. Okay I'm getting pointless here...

Moving on. I just realised there are other better methods to keep me awake! :)

♥

White (and red sometimes) roses are such significance :)

I'm listening to GaGa's latest album. I want to go to her concert next year (at the O2)! Anyone up for it? :D

make it work?

Today was such a gorgeous day! The Sun was up, showering its brilliant rays in every direction. The sky was a clear blue with a couple of jet streams here and there. The trees are shedding their leaves now since it's the early/mid Autumn. I have been feeling slightly déjà vu-ish throughout the day. It felt... complex yet simple. A very contradictory feeling, but it was along the line!

I must say that I prefer Thursday of all the weekdays that I have to go to uni. Pourquoi? (pronounce: por-kwa. It French for "why") Well, it starts with French and ends with French, from 10am to 3pm. The timetable is weird in that sense. Between the 2 French classes, I have an hour of Maths lecture (I often snooze during this period) followed by an hour of Economics. The Economics tutor I was assigned to is so student-like (he is doing PhD). He laughs at his own jokes and is so informal! It's cute in a way and it helps to break the ice between him and the rest of us. My French tutor for the classes is such a cute lady. She reminds me of a ballerina/ salsa dancer somehow. I think it's her posture and how she ties her hair up. These 2 tutors of mine (on Thursdays) are always laughing. I hope that won't stop. It will definitely spoil my Thursdays. :(

The rest of the day was spent trying to get my maths lecture notes printed, but to no avail. I wasted about 50p during the process too. What a bummer. They should station more computers in the Library! & printers + cheaper printing fees/ F.O.C for students will be great. Oh yea, get Windows 7 installed! The computers here aren't even running on Windows Vista, but it's understandable since it's said to have a lot of bugs. SO YES, MORE VALUE FOR MY SCHOOL FEES PLEASEEE! (I hope the rest have similar thoughts as me)

Hmm, the past few days have been pretty so-so. Project Runway Season 6 & Mila have been throwing me with "make it work". :)

I feel like cycling today! & visit the London Aquarium... too bad no one was interested in either. I didn't ask around anyway! (笑)
i felt lonely today- でも, ありがとうミリちゃん for being there :)
(I can't stand the poses, that's why it's so small)

Ho-hum. What do you all think?

blogger's been haywire :(

Graaahh, this is getting into me. I'm using draft.blogger now, even though it's quite a pleasant website to use. My nerves been really poor lately. I feel angry so much easily and the way it came out is very much like an eruption. Must be related to the weather here... or the people I have to face.

The past few days have been more interesting and henceforth engaging than before. Or maybe it's because of yesterday. (yes, it should be it, apart from sending my dad off to the airport) Finally get to see Shaun after 3 days of cold turkey! It was raining so we decided to stay put, chat and get comfy while we waited for the right time to move out of comfort zone. Auntie Pat picked us up in the afternoon and brought us to Sentosa for dinner. She brought us to this really awesome penthouse (I forgot the condo's name) which have a really, amazingly, breathtaking view of the sea. The scene of it from the living room was so gorgeous, it literally took my breath away the moment I saw it. The sea was right smack in front of the living room so when you stand in the middle of it, you can practically see a stretch of it across your balcony. It was nearly priceless, since the penthouse does come with a price. Come to think of it, it's such a pity that I didn't take any pictures of the penthouse... (nor the rest of the day, it would have been awesome)

As always, I searched around for the bedroom. The master was the first we went into. It was of an average size, not too big and not small. The toilet was relatively big. Oh yea, it's really sexy too because there's a glass panel which separates the bathtub (a white, cute one at that) from the bedroom. It allows one to look into the bathrub area of the bathroom while resting on the bed. The master bedroom also comes with an external shower (it has an internal one too, separated from the bathtub), doubling it's sexyness. As for the 2 bathrooms, they are not impressive. It's unfortunate that the 2 of them are allocated a very limited area each. The kitchen is alright for me, but definitely not for people who loves to cook. It's pretty small. :(

What I like about the house is (obviously) the living room. Not only of it's precious view of the sea, it's really huge as well! Nic said that the penthouse is suited for bachelors (he calls it a bachelor pad), which I don't think I would disagree. It's really a waste that the penthouse issn't more family-friendly. I do like the idea of using white marble for the flooring! It really makes the house glow. :)

Okay, that's quite a bit of ranting... I like looking at houses and interiors (and talking about it if it's really awesome, in this case it's the view)! It's like quite an important part of everyone's life! I'd like my (own, if possible) shelter to look as welcoming, pleasant and warm as possible. It'll be aweeesooome! I wonder if that's going to happen. Hmm.

Anyway... dinner was delicious (十全十美 hahahahahaha). Auntie Pat treated us (or would it be more appropriate if I referred it to just "me", since the other 2 are her sons) at ONE°15 Marina Club. Really posh, with all those yatches parked around. Their mushroom soup won me over! It was rich and mushroom-y. I liked it a lot. We had a stroll together at the berth after the meal to aid our digestion. A really nice way to end the day. :)
thank you for the delightful day ♥
I really do wish I have some pictures to decorate this long, wordy post. I have been neglecting my camera lately, what a shame. Oh well, I guess sometimes, some things will have to be done for a better, happier future.

I'm out, for now!

P.S. I've finished reading the Deathly Hallows. I will include my comment(s) regarding the book on the future post.

when is it going to rain

Singapore's weather is really hot. Not forgetting the humid part too. I really can't stop talking about the weather here. It's horrid beyond horrid... I didn't even bother checking the weather here. It will all be the same hot and humid. No surprises there. Unless it snows or the leaves starts to turn orangish red or more realistic than the previous two listed, cool breeze throughout noon (I'm talking below 20 degree celcius here). Yea, we can all dream about those.

I went to check out Pure Yoga at Ngee Ann City today. What a nice zen place! Stepping out of the lift (the whole 18th floor belongs to them) already makes me feel at peace. The studios were more or less the same, covered with numerous yoga mats and mirrored walls. There's a ladies shower (no gents I'm afraid since only 10-20% of the members are of the gender) which is pretty huge and nicely (and zen-ly) furnished. Overall the place is awesome, I really like it, but the membership price is making me think twice. I still have not talk to my mom about it (at $200+/month for 3 months membership I don't think she's going to give me the green light anyway) and now is not really the right time. I guess I will have to wait and check out True Yoga in the mean time. I really hope she'll let me join! :(

Oh yea and Pure group is owned by Coco Lee's boyfriend. How cool is that! Shaun's brother, Mark, told me about it. The company originates from Hong Kong.

I feel like lying down tomorrow afternoon and read a book. Speaking of which, I need money so that I can get new books!!! Or borrow books from someone. Summer is all about reading mannn! So stop thinking that I am like some bookworm. Reading is very beneficial! But everything goes down to money. Sigh, I wish I have a money tree or something. Like a tree which produces money literally, not the kind of money tree with green leaves which photosynthesises.

Anyway enough crapping, I'm out! I shall wake up early tomorrow and enjoy my day lazying around like a cat. :D

I need more books

Another hot day I always dread. Walking around Chinatown under the hot Sun, short sleeves paired with shorts, no doubt I'll be as dark as I used to be a couple of years back. I didn't use the word "tanned", which would be more appropriate, as it's nice to be tanned. My current skin tone now is just charred instead of tanned. It's always like that whenever I get exposed to the Sun. Or maybe I should do a proper sun tanning. I don't mind carrying a sun-kissed, golden brown kind of tan. It's sexy! :D

Nonetheless, today's lunch was fattening-ly good. It quite a surprise sometimes the kind of restaurant quality food one can find in a hawker centre, as what my dad (and many others) have said. I still have to make my dad start liking Food Republic. He think it's a very lousy place with a very very small selection of food. Graahh, the food there is not that bad! I love the rojak there, they have air-con and it's so much more hygenic that the normal hawker centres. Phelgm covered floor. Thinking of it makes me shudder.

It's Sunday and there's barely anything for me to do. I am so tired. Maybe I shall go read for a bit and have my afternoon nap. Yey for naps! :D & books too.

Metallica concert

Urgh, accounts is getting even more challenging than before :( I can't even get one final answer right for my homework! This is one disadvantage of taking on a speed course for A Levels. There is barely enough time to finish the syllabus properly and all the teachers are basically zooming past all the chapters. I don't even have a proper understanding of what is being taught now... I only have my O level knowledge to rely on. Daydreaming in practically all classes just make things worse too. -_-

Oh well. Anyway next week is Easter break. It's going to be for about 2 weeks, which is on average 2 week shorter than what most schools here in UK have. LSE actually has 5 weeks off for their Easter. Jealous, I am so. I understand why the college decided to only give us with only 2 weeks though. It's basically what I rambled about in the previous paragraph. I have a feeling that this break is going to be wasted as well, just like previous breaks that I had. Remember I always say how I am going to use it to revise school stuff? I never did that. Except for a rare couple of days, or hours even, that's it. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh I've lost my drive and desire. Bad, bad. :/

Okay enough about college stuff. This bit might be interesting: I went to Metallica's concert last Saturday!!! Omg, is that awesome/ shocking/ unexpected or whuddd. It was kind of a spontaneous thing because Shaun and Naz got extra tickets and no one wanted to buy them... so Boobs bought one of the tickets and Shaun kindly offered me the extra one. Naz is the hardcore Metallica fan anyway and Shaun agreed to accompany him to catch the concert once more. Yea that's how hard core he is. Naz went to the same concert twice. Like, whoa.

The concert was rather awesome. It was very eye-opening, metal-ish and freaking loud. It was so loud that when I came out of the stadium, I could barely hear properly. It was as though I lost my sense of hearing after the 1.5 hour long performance. During the concert I actually feared that I might go deaf and had to cover my ears to try and prevent further (temporary) damage to my ear drums. I got it back though, thankfully. Or so I think... hmm.

I find it quite a waste that I only knew 2 songs out of the handful that they played. Nearly everyone were like singing (or rather, screaming) with the lead vocalist. Oh yea, I find that James (lead vocalist, guitarist and band leader) is very charismatic. & the drummer (Lars?) too. They are quite old though.

Someone's watching us.

The cab driver who couldn't catch whatever we said.

Naz, in white, and boobs, holding the banana skin.

"Don't put 2 rotten bananas together" or something.

Doodling away on the window~

O2 Arena was where the concert was held.

Outside the stadium. (Not very interesting)

Our seats were pretty high up and far away from the stage. Naz and Boobs sat at different places, closer to the stage. Btw, the picture with shaun talking on the phone was to illustrate how far we were from the stage, lol.

James!!!

Other hard core fans cheering and throwing their empty plastic cups of beer down. Oh yea, I experienced an uber mini beer shower, wts. Thank goodness the smell didn't stick on to me.

Some guy dozing off/ orgasming in silence.

If you can distinguish the faces from this pictures you can actually see Shaun yawning lol.

Metallica!

James again! :D

James changing hahahaaahahahahahahahh

& 1 Kirk. Haha. Most of the pictures were taken with maximum zoom btw. It's quite surprising that this Kirk one is clearer, relative to the other pictures.

The weather is getting warmer lately albeit the weird difference in the change of temperature from day to night (think from 16 to 4). It's not that extreme yet but it's really quite troublesome. I have to dress at the right thickness, enough to keep me from being baked by my layers and frozen by the night wind. Oh well. Spring oh springgg, thou make me ponder what I am going to experience this time round.

rain

What a cold day. A good one to some, alright to most, bad for the unfortunate souls. Mine happen to be in the last category, for reasons I am still trying to search for. Probably it's because of the lack of Vitamin D from the Sun, it's vital for me to get some exposure in the morning or my whole day will be moody (lame excuse). But really, it was pretty bad for me. Even worse for my sister. Us poor souls, I seek Thy mercy.

I got drenched a few times just now, which is really my own fault because I am too stubborn for my own good. I just have this thing against carrying an umbrella... don't you think it takes up so much of your bag space and very troublesome to carry the wet umbrella around? I don't care if some of you carry if because of defence reasons (e.g. use it as a weapon to deal with molesters), but there are really more convenient methods like pepper sprays! Another reason of why I don't really use one is that it doesn't make me feel very nice when I leave a wet trail of raindrops from my wet umbrella when I walk around in shops. & who knows! I might even trip on it. Umbrellas can be a health hazzard sometimes (yea to molesters too). I'd usually go for alternatives of umbrellas like a raincoat or something. I remember wearing a yellow one to school back in Indonesia. ... good old memories! The weather's making me feel nostalgic. :)

Speaking of which, raining in Singapore feels so much different than when it rains over here. I dread it so much whenever I sense the rain coming. The wind + the low temperature here makes it a very unpleasurable experience to have. It makes you feel more miserable rather than happy, which is what I usually get back there. You know how sometimes you have the impulse to run into the rain and start dancing like some mad hoboe and then you feel damn good after that? Yea, I get it all the time in Singapore... but rarely here. Unless you like the feeling of shivering for a loooong time even after you managed to get indoors. I guess snow's the thing for UK, not rain... which I got a chance to experience last week. I will update on it soon enough, with pictures! & a loooooooong story.

Well, after saying a whole load on (basically) rubbish, I missed out on the original topic: My bad day. I thought that it should pretty obvious by now that I am not a good story-teller. I always go out of topic and emphasize on the most trivial stuff and leave out the important bits. Sigh, what a shame.

& yes should I say this one more time: I am not a good story-teller.

C for communication

Boo :(

I had a heavy dinner about 2 hours ago. It made me feel really heavy now... as in no digestion is taking place. My stomach feels rather uncomfortable at the moment. :(

Come to think of it, I haven't been JE-ing for a long time. Although I am still watching some doramas, most of them doesn't really have JE boys. 流星の絆 (Ryusei no Kizuna) is probably the only one qualified in my list because Nino and Ryo (of course) are in it. I am halfway though the dorama now, because the website which I usually download my weekly dose of japanese shows has stopped uploading its links. It's not THAT nice though... I think Innocent Love is better. The storyline and acting are somewhat more convincing. Not sure whether the link issue is temporary or not; I don't really like the idea of not finish watching a series unless it's ridiculously long e.g. 真情. Thousands of episode, wts?!

Ryo should star in more damn good doramas like 1 Litre of Tears and Last Friends, despite the fact that his role in the latter show doesn't make him very likable. Ahhh~~ I miss seeing Ryo with his old hairstyle (definitely not the boring/ weird one in Ryusei), doing his model like walk and grinning from ear to ear! ... I am starting to get the fangirl feeling again teehee. It's been a while. ;D

Anyway, today was a very cold day. I forgot to bring my scarf, which is really a very careless thing to do. My chest was freeeeeeeeeezing seriously. Thank goodness I remembered to wear the right shoes. I nearly slipped like for gazillion of times yesterday on my way to college as I wore boots with lousy grip. It took me like nearly 30 minutes to reach college, unlike the usual 10-15 minutes! Hopefully it's a blessing in disguise though i.e. burn more calories. That'll be a swellllll! :D

Thought of the day is that communication is very important to keep the connection alive. Hmm, I think I should do this segment regularly from now onwards!

Alrighttttt, time for me to hit the sack. ...I think my eyelids just went to bed before my brain did/

didn't mention the other side of the story here

When did you last see me? (Note: what's the white stuff behind me- not the sign board)

It's snowing really heavily here, in London, which is apparently a rare thing. The scene outside my window is so pretty because it's all white: the ground, roof, top of the cars, benches... basically on the top of every surface. I see a hobo making the bottom part of a snowman all by herself. She noticed that I was staring at her through the window and gestured to me, inviting me to her little lonesome activity. I smiled to her and politely declined.

A reflex action is happening in my body as I feel the adrenaline/ endocrine/ whatever hormone is at work right now. This spontaneous urge to play with the snow is building up but I can't go out because my head is slightly throbbing, probably from the strong wind just now when I went to get some dinner. I took some pictures, so that I can share the small bit of joy that I have been feeling since afternoon, when the snowflakes started to fall like raindrops, the elegant version of it.
This is right outside the apartment I live in.

Sounds familiar to some. ;)

Snow covered ground at someone's courtyard. & bike.

When it stopped snowing for a while, & the snow on the ground has melted... not on the board though. I find it funny because it doesn't serve any purpose anymore.

Snow! :D

Then it started snowing again after I bought the dinner.

YEY SNOWFLAKESSSSSS~~

Sale on display!!! Last day for FCUK and I didn't go because I am not financially able at the moment.

A picture with the London vibe. A tiny bit of it. Oh yea, the wind was blowing at my direction when I was taking this picture. Obviously the snowflakes follow the direction of which the wind is going... so it was like hitting against my face and some of the bigger snowflakes actually went down my throat.

Some might find this familiar, again. The snow's thicker now. It's still snowing can you believe it?! I wonder if the trains are going to be cancelled tomorrow... :( I want a snow war!

:D oh joy, if only you could stay here forever~

It has been quite a weird week. I have been making attempts to come back home earlier than the previous weeks due to complaints from my siblings which resulted in an earful from my father. Hmm, I am trying to be a nice sister as well because my sister will be having her major exam in about half a day's time. Nice comments coming from her should be able to offset some of the negativeness that I've been giving her for the past month! & she said that she MIGHT(she said to take special attention to the word) give me some extra cash for next week's allowance. Whee!!! Very attractive incentive. :D
MIGHT help in my plan teehee ♥
Oh, did I mention that LSE gave me a conditional offer on the 30th January at 5.01PM? I felt emotionally ecstatic that I still have a chance to convince my father that his hard work is not exactly gone to a waste. What a feeling. :)
