can't wait to trim my nails!

Terribly dry hands and miserably long fingernails. :(

Parents are in the house! They were away for about 10 days, leaving me with much liberation and an elder brother. It was quite a peaceful time for myself, the house and TV, although these were minimal. I really enjoyed the outdoors time but at the same time somehow missed the homely noise my parents always make. I can say that my life is all about trade-offs with very little best-of-both-worlds situations. Most of the time.

Anyway, I decided to spend the afternoon at home. Chanced upon a couple of pictures which sort of give me an idea of how I would want to re-furnish (decorate, rather) my room this coming fall. My own room! How exciting. I'm thinking of going along with the existing colour template of white, beige and black, which are pretty neutral. Throw in some light patterns, fairy lights (and bed net!) and maybe introduce a sheer lining curtains to the small window in my room. I'm going for warm and soft theme to retain some Spring amidst the cruelly cold Winter. Oh yea and the gloomy rainy London weather too, which is quite a contrast compared to my potential room. So much furniture shopping to do! It's like as if the apartment is mine and I'm never ever going to move out of it. Oh how I wish...

Grr now I'm anticipating my flight back to London, wait till my sister moves back to Singapore and start the decoration! That's a good thing right?..

just a bit

WOW. It's amazing (or not) how time flies by. Yes I really like saying that.

I was just looking through my Summer 2010 album and noticed that I've been in Singapore for really long. To be more precise, since June. It's already September which means that I have been around for nearly 3 whole months. That's like one fifth of a year! Sadly enough it doesn't feel that long. Perhaps it's the recent internship opportunity made time more mundane and making it feel very summed up.

Now that I'm done with internship, it feels like I have a lot of time in hand. Myth. Just 3 more weeks left in Singapore is not enough. Especially when I'm planning to spend a longer time in London this time round i.e. spend Winter and Easter breaks in London, so the next trip back will be next Summer. I have no idea how I'm going to sustain the 9 months away from family, friends and hmm, who else did I miss? ;) I'm such a baby. There are people who are capable of concentrating on their lives over at the other end of the world and not relent to the temptation of returning to the loving home of theirs. I honestly feel that it's a huge feat if the company they have is not as friendly and supportive.

I shall cross my fingers on that.

plans for summer

One of the bad things with updating less is that sometimes you come back with so many things to talk about but none of which you can remember accurately. Or as excitingly. Another boohoo is I tend to lose the urge to blog. (Nooooo~) I shall prevent that from happening!

Tomorrow marks the 2nd week of being in Singapore. All I remember is being outdoors with either my mom, beloved or Rachel (since Mila was in Jakarta). Oh yea and bumping into a couple of people too! Since the GSS (Great Singapore Sale) is on, there's not much point staying home. Unless, of course, my parents decided to ground me once more. I've enjoyed the past 2 weeks! I've ate (inevitably gained weight as well), played and caught up with some people. Ahh good times.

Have I talked about what my summer will be like? I'll be spending time picking up some work experience for a huge part of this holiday. Yes! I managed to get an internship at a Corporate Finance firm with the help of an ageless mother (you can report this). It's a small firm where all the staff are seniors in terms of experience and it's quite intimidating if you think about it! My internship will be starting next week, which means I probably will not have as much chance to enjoy carefree times. On a brighter note, my CV will probably be more attractive and who knows who I'll meet in the 2 month period? :D

I was planning to learn Japanese during this break, which is not going to happen due to timetable issues. Brushing up on French (and English ahahaahhaha) during office hours doesn't seem too bad, since I was told that there will be times when there will be completely nothing for me to do. Omggg I can't believe I am going to be working in an office! I've never imagined myself joining the workforce, working on a typical schedule from 9am to 5pm, 5 days a week. Cross my fingers for the existence of office politics. It's a small firm anyway! Oh yes, I've been shopping for work clothes too. It's fun yet demoralising because the clothes are so matured and I feel so old. I still want to wear my tees and shorts! Le sob.

Anyhoo, something more academical: EXAMINATION RESULTS! The day falls on 14th July, about 3 weeks from now. I'm already feeling the butterflies in my stomach. How badly did I do? Omg!!! The jitters is killing me. Even though I initially thought that 40% being the passing rate will not be a problem, HEH, now I realise that I'm being a joke. A foolish, proud and totally idiotic teenager who thinks she can rule the world!* Seriously Inggrid, you think you can easily pass LSE papers? Did you see how crazy difficult the papers were?! Did you realise how retardedly careless you were for Maths and Stats?! Did you realise how bad your time management was for all the papers?!??!! AHHHHHHHHH this is driving me insane! It's super pressurising since LSE does not do resits. It's definitely one of the things that I'm not proud of being a (current) LSE student.

Other than those mentioned, I'll be extracting my wisdom teeth, hopefully sometime soon! I'll be taking summer one day at a time with my results being the next major thing. My beloved's heading to Taiwan in 2 months time for >= 20 days... and I've heard stories which are really unpleasant, but shutting it out! Out out out. Carpe Diem.

'Nuff said for now. A few pictures and then time for me to have some brown lovinggg ;)

I was at the airport a few hours early. 1.5 hours was spent shopping for perfumes, chocolates and random stuff. The other half an hour or so was spent sitting around, on the phone.

View from plane I always love how endless the sky looks. It's not cool when the sky scrapers are eating so much into panoramic views.

Limitations of a camera and a small aeroplane window. I had a rare window two seater all for myself! However, there were a lot of elderly couples and there was one who snored really loudly. I didn't manage to fall asleep, had a very bad jet lag and fell sick for half a day in Singapore. Lemon Chicken Rice was my choice of plane supper and it was the first time I felt that SIA food is bad.

Pitch dark by take off = gorgeous view of London.

Up, up and away!

SING-A-PORE! :D :D

Met up with Rachel a few days after I reached Singapore. Yong Tau Foo yumm the sauce yumm yumm yumm (hehe Mila)

Then we had tea at Cedele, chatted and read ViVi.

Rachel decided to walk me home because my stomach was feeling upset (AWW HOW SWEET RIGHT!). Then we saw this advertisement for men.

Enlarge to read. By the way, there's a couple more of them being hung up.

Oh yea this was the day when I gave Shaun a surprise. Teheheheheheehehe love you chubbs!

Ladylike, no?

SNOW CRAB RAMEN!!!

Rei had some ramen with butter, corn and shio pork. Looks really good too! :D

Gyoooooooozaaaaa!

Rei's treat at Coffeebean. Thanks lovelette!

Malibu (or something) was really good!! The cake was disgusting. Literal sponge cake (though it's supposed to be a tiramisu) with green tea powder.

Ended the day feeling super sleepy and the worst part of all: I LOST MY PHONE. Oh my God. I think I left it at the table and it got stolen. Sigh. It's such an old number and it's becoming a part of me. D: Anyway I've a new number now.

Dinner at Shangri-la Japanese restaurant with the Ngs invited by ageless mother.

Yummm $_$

Shaun's brother (what's with the pose), me and beloved.

Who is this skinny guy.

This was taken yesterday. Ageless mother was sending me home after which she went to a rock gig with her sons. Ageless isn't it!

Wow, that wasn't little! Toodlesss all, eat your poodles' noodles!

*I'm joking about the last part, just being dramatic.

P.S.: blogging on Chrome is officially a pain.

totally pigged day 2

I only had an agenda for today: play Sims 3. It's quite sad to be wasting my life away like this! I sort of lost track with my days. Initially I thought today is Sunday but it's Monday. Le sigh. This is bad! I shall start exploring the streets from tomorrow onwards. Or start doing more domestic/educational activities e.g. read books, bake cookies or clean the apartment, the lot.

Finally opened Mila's box of cookies a while ago. It was a souvenir from HK Disneyland and I couldn't bear to open it until the moment is right (OCD much?). I love the box, it's so cute! But when I opened the box, it's even more adorable than expected...

The cute box.

AWW!! Looking at it makes me want to learn how to make cute cookies like that :)

Sigh!

totally pigged day 1

Plan for today:
  1. Play Sims 3 (After eons!)
  2. Online browse (done this)
  3. Learn a new dish (I'm thinking of something more British...)
  4. Take a nap.
  5. Read magazines downloaded last night.
  6. Plan what to bring and buy home (yes I love making lists and crossing them out)
  7. Eat.
  8. TV.
  9. Sleep.
2 more days of this. Oh mm gee!

need to rehab

Yet again, another night with a glass of mint baileys mixed with milk. Calories filled but I just can't resist the goodness of it! Beloved mentioned that I lost weight but I think I will be gaining them back before I touch down in Singapore. No more gym since my membership will be frozen from next month onwards! Le sob. I guess that gives me more reason to go shopping/ window shop. :D

I will be spending the next few days at home. No reason to go out tomorrow, Monday is going to be a Bank holiday and Tuesday should be the day when my online orders get delivered. I'm stocking up on entertainment that I've been deprived of for the last month or so. Think Japanese magazines, doramas and the long awaited O.P.I nail polish(es)!! I might have ordered quite a number of them because of bulk discounts. Oh, anyone who wants to get cheap O.P.I nail polish do contact me! It's going at (cheapest) £7 per bottle. :D

I missed Mila on MSN today :( different time zones can be such a pain in the ass!

you can only call me...

Watch the video :)

This song makes me feel like slapping my face with heavy make-up, dress in a glamorous, sexy black suit and sky high heels... which I can only fantasise about because 1) I'll never do that unless I lose myself 2) successfully achieve my ideal body shape and at this stage, I'm heading to the other direction. Arghhh I was getting close to it. Singapore's spoiling me!!

I'm a tiny bit more relieved after submitting 2/3 of my assignments, even more so after finding one module mate who is in the same boat as I am. It got me a bit more relaxed at the last minute, I was so tense about everything!! Never have I felt this way about deadlines before, or rather, being late. This new found sense of urgency for assignment is making me happy for some reason! :)

My plans for today is to get my third assignment done and sort out my song folders. Nerd much?

p.s.: don't call me stripper.

what I believe about counting down

Kissing at midnight: We kiss those dearest to us at midnight not only to share a moment of celebration with our favorite people, but also to ensure those affections and ties will continue throughout the next twelve months. To fail to smooch our significant others at the stroke of twelve would be to set the stage for a year of coldness.

Unfortunately...

I've told the boy I've this tradition about seeing the person I love while counting down to the New Year's, and left out the details of it. Thought I should share what I believe(d) in. It sounds really silly but it's a lovely way to cross over to the new year! Poor boy (and I) would probably not be counting down together much thanks to the time difference. He'll be over at HK celebrating with his family and many, many people, which sounds really fun!! I'd better find my crowd too/ plan something at least (soya pudding is still calling my name...). Let's hope my lung will permit my potential activity! :)

Just got to stop believing in silly stuff, shouldn't I ;)

thirsty for inspiration

Thank goodness for the snow storm because college has to be closed until the transport system is working properly once more. Can you imagine... 3 days without school because of the snow, oh glee! Got a couple of days to sleep up till noon (dark circles and eye bags are still untouched, nonetheless) and settled some stuff which I have been procrastinating about like filing up my notes, register with the Indonesian Embassy and renew my passport. Oh, and yes, of course there's the homework bit as well. I finished my Maths M1 homework!!! :D

My new passport photo was a considerable improvement from the previous one. The change is not very commendable though because I look like some bitchy snobbish blah: my eyebrows gave the impression that one side is higher than the other and my pursed lips looked like it's slanting to one side. Like, wts. My hair is horrible, messy, bodyless. Oh my God. I am still quite discombobulated as to why I didn't request for a retake after taking a glance of the picture. But really, it looked more dodgy-like when it's actually printed. Sigh, should really have asked for a retake. What's worse is that this passport is going to be valid for the next three years. ARRRGGHHH IMAGINE THE HORRORS OF THE IMMIGRATION OFFICERS SUSPECTING THAT I AM SOME ILLEGAL PERSON OR SOMETHING! :'(

I had quite a journey on Monday, which brought about a lot of trouble for me on the following day. Seriously, yesterday was a really fucked up day. Hence the suicidal (as described by someone) post. But I am fine now, I think. It made me reflect on a lot of things, which adds on quite bit of fear and uncertainty to whatever I have in my mind. A short conversation with Mila helped me to develop a bit of confidence and strength though! Sigh~ it's nice to hear from her apart from texting. :)

Anyway, I am thinking of changing my blogskin for real. I think I am going to go for something bright this time round. Reason being: Spring's coming! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~ Sunny days, green green grass, brightly colored flowers, fluffy clouds, exuberant spirits... all the Spring awesomeness! Hmm, or will it be the same/ as expected this year? We'll see.

it was enough

DONE.

No more examinations untillll a few more months! This time was horrendous, caught unprepared for my last few papers which are the crucial ones. Sighhhhhh, undoubtedly the one that I just completed was poorly done. My right hand is on the verge to break down when the time was up. I was writing super quickly but not very efficiently because I kept on getting spelling mistakes and had to go back to cancel and rewrite it again, taking up even more time. I didn't complete the paper, as usual. But I guess what's done is done and I shall not dedicate too much of my time mourning over my performance.

The results will be released on the 5th of March. The day when butterflies will start to flutter around in my stomach, the day when I will experience another round of cold sweat, the day when I will blame myself for today, yesterday and the past.
fluffy cheeks then?
Welllll, today wasn't as bad as yesterday noon... there were some perks! Better than yesterday's I guess because I get to use my other 4 senses. Wheeeeee~ :D I went to the gym right after college ends (Biology was the last period, we did Statistics which was incredibly boring) with the lot and managed to get myself perspiring. I did like 15 minutes of cardio, an improvement from the mere 5 minutes last week! It's still quite a disappointment though because Shaun said I have to do at least 20 minutes. Hmm, it's achievable but I don't think I have the mentality to reach the goal. :(

Anyway right now I am back in the kitchen. I used to be working here all the time because I didn't have a table to work on and the apartment is really small. I used to complain a lot about it and one day my sister said she doesn't mind letting me have her table because the dining table is bigger than her work desk anyway... but I think she still prefers working on her own desk. & today, I decided that I should return it to her. It's sort of a self-punishment because... I think I have been really selfish for the past few weeks. Her huge examination is around the corner and I am still bugging her and all with my behaviour. I am not sure how long am I going to return it to her for though. I don't think I would mind working here because, yes, the table is indeed much bigger and I can web-cam here! (She has a problem with me using the webcam in her room- don't probe) We'll see, we'll see. :)

Now that the exam is over, for now, I think I might want to start reading. I have been trying to get started on reading the last volume of Harry Potter because it's really annoying when people start to talk about it and I will have to walk away because I don't want the story to be spoilt! Or maybe a cheesy novel or even mystery or or or..... TWILIGHT. Yes, maybe Twilight. I don't knowwwww really. Throw me a book and maybe I will read it. I need to inject more oomph in my writing style. I do notice that my grammar is really weak and I don't have a wide range of vocabulary. Boohoo.

Ahhh~ it feels nice to be blogging once more. It's like starting to work out and getting your heart pumping and muscles contracting after a long period of bumming around! :D

You don't have to get me flowers

Oh. My. Goodness! Today was unbelievably cold. I, who was trying to be a heroine, wore only a wool jumper, (micro)shorts and 100 den stockings. I almost froze to death while walking from the underground station to my house. It seems that this path is the coldest out of my whole journey back from school. It's quite weird because there are more buildings around this area. I wonder why, hmm.

I think I will have to change part of my plan, which is kind of a bummer because I don't know how it's going to turn out. In order to prepare for that, I shall embark on a journey to search for alternatives! There's quite a long list in front of me now after I comfortably sat myself down in front of the laptop and online browsed. It's still in the process of expanding. Spreeing sounds awesome, but I hope I won't overspend. I need to save up for the worlddd (kidding, I meant Christmas) although I am not sure how much I should save up to. Oh well, the more the better I guess. I love it when I realised I have excess money after buying the things on my to-buy list. It's like you feel rich and capable of buying many things, expecially in this economic downturn! Hence, I shall oversave (is there such a word?).

Rachel, if you are reading this please remember to remind me to give you poison. The MSN offline thing isn't working right now. It keeps on rejecting my messages and I am starting to get pissed off.

Is it me or does this post have a lot of "I"s?
excited beyond belief ♥

Show me the moneh

Veeeeeeeeeeery tempting!

I have a plan in mind now. I hope it works but I don't think it's going to. Boohoo. :(

Tuesday, 30 September 2008

Inggrid, you are so weird

My plan to study either one of my 4 subjects(Economics, Biology, Accounts and Maths; in order of which to study first) was a complete failure. De-credit to laptop and WLAN, not forgetting my super pathetic self-discipline. Oh well! But since Mila is online, at this very minute which is rather unearthly for her back in Singapore, I shall excuse myself. Heheh~ so much to catch up with each other but we have no idea where to start. Nevertheless, it's still good to be able to meet each other on MSN since I miss her like very ultra super much! :D

School wasn't much of a thrill lately, well it never really was anyway, but I am still hoping that that one day will come, when I will feel very excited to come to school and wake up voluntarily without the irritating disturbance of my handphone alarm. I doubt it's going to happen any time soon because of the crappy situation that I am in(IELTS screwed, xxxx and seeing yyyy with ???????). Boohoo, whywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhymustitbeher.

Am I really that hopeless? D:

Eyecandies & crushes aside, school is still a... sad land. Like, today's Economics test was horrible. Last question was completely based on my non-existent luck. I didn't even read the choices(it was MCQ) and picked "B". After the test period, Serene told me that her answer is "E". Assuming her answer is the right one(most likely), there goes my 1 mark for wrong answer + 3 marks for absence of explanation + another 3 marks for screwed up explanation + 1 mark for wrong answer again + 1234567890 million billion zillion marks. Argh, I am frustrated with myself!

I want to be the subtle kind too!

Alright, I am going to retreat to the bathroom and get a nice warm shower as Mila have her MacDonald's pancakes. Yummmm, butter and maple syrup. Sounds very very very tempting indeed.
